WipeTok is built with a simple rule: it should be able to see exactly what you could see yourself, and nothing WipeTok doesn't need never leaves your device. This page covers both the iPhone app and the Chrome extension.
What WipeTok collects
Nothing. WipeTok has no backend server, no analytics, and no account system. There is no database anywhere that stores your TikTok activity, your reposts, or any personal information.
Your TikTok password
WipeTok never asks for, sees, or stores your TikTok password. On iPhone, you sign in to TikTok yourself inside a visible, local WebKit browser session — the same as signing in through Safari. In the Chrome extension, WipeTok simply reads and clicks within a tiktok.com tab you're already signed in to; it has no login form of its own.
Chrome extension permissions
The extension's manifest requests exactly two permissions:
- sidePanel — to show the WipeTok control panel.
- Access to tiktok.com pages — to scan your Reposts tab and click the same "Remove repost" control you could click yourself.
It does not request access to any other website, your browsing history, downloads, or any data outside of tiktok.com tabs.
Third parties
WipeTok does not sell, share, or transmit any data to third parties, because it does not collect any data to begin with. There are no ad networks and no third-party trackers in the app or the extension.
Independent app
WipeTok is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance.
